The refurbished Ferno Model 59-T Glide Evacuation Chair is a rugged, reliable emergency evacuation chair designed to safely and efficiently transport seated patients down and up stairs, across flat surfaces, and through confined areas. Featuring Ferno’s proven EZ Glide tracked system, the 59-T allows operators to glide patients down stairs in a controlled manner without the need to lift or carry the patient, helping reduce physical strain on caregivers and emergency personnel.
Built for demanding environments, the 59-T combines a durable all-metal frame with a compact, highly maneuverable design. Its one-inch track-to-ground clearance, front swivel wheels, and tall rear wheels help the chair navigate stair landings, corridors, carpeted surfaces, and other challenging areas.
Key Features
- EZ Glide tracked stair system provides controlled stair descent without carrying the patient
- 500 lb. maximum weight capacity
- Durable all-metal frame construction for long-term use
- Positive locking hinge system helps secure the chair during deployment, folding, and transport
- One-inch track-to-ground clearance improves maneuverability over various surfaces
- 4-inch front swivel wheels provide smooth movement and directional control
- 6-inch high-profile rear wheels help reduce debris buildup and improve mobility
- Large patient seating surface for enhanced comfort
- Snap-on ABS plastic panels for a durable, easy-to-maintain finish
- Compact design is ideal for stairwells, landings, hallways, and confined spaces
- Five-position lift bar and handle system accommodates operators of different heights
EZ Glide Tracked System
The Ferno EZ Glide track system is designed to make stair evacuation more controlled and manageable. Once positioned on the stairs, the tracks allow the chair to glide along the stair edges rather than requiring operators to carry the patient's full weight. This can help reduce lifting demands and provide greater control during emergency evacuation.
Handle Configuration
The Model 59-T may be configured with head-end lift handles, depending on the specific unit and availability.
The five-position lift bar and handle system allows operators to select a comfortable working position, while optional rear lift handles can provide additional assistance when maneuvering or ascending stairs.
Please note: Head-end lift handles may or may not be included with the unit pictured. Contact us to confirm the exact configuration of available inventory.
